ORLANDO, Fla. –– The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the leading certifier of green projects in the state, has announced its executive committee of senior officers and board for the coming year.
Hollywood’s Barry Faske, Faske Enterprises, has been elected president for the second year. U.S. Army Major (Ret.) Bill Kachman of DeLand will serve as vice president, Real Estate Broker Jeannette Moore, owner of Green Florida Properties in St. Augustine, is the secretary and Miami architect Arturo Griego, owner of G3 AEC, is treasurer.
“Our senior officers and board embody the spirit of our mission and bring talent, expertise and energy to the table. We are extremely grateful for their guidance and leadership, and fortunate to have them help FGBC promote a state of sustainability,” noted FGBC Executive Director C.J. Davila.
In 2000 the non-profit FGBC brought together industry professionals from the construction, government, academic and research communities to create green standards tailored specifically to Florida.
Faske is a true native Floridian with roots dating back over 100 years to Miami and South Florida.
He has been a business owner for over 16 years and is an FGBC Certifying Agent. Faske is active on numerous FGBC committees.
Within his local community, Faske is chair of the city of Hollywood’s Green Team Advisory Committee to the City Commission and is a member of the Broward County Climate Change Task Force.
He is also chair of the Leadership Hollywood Environmental Day – a 40-year-old program of the Hollywood Chamber with over 1000 graduates, including many elected or appointed officials serving at the local, state, and national levels.
Kachman joined Environmental Construction & Consulting in Deland in 2004 and got involved with green building.
For the next nine years, he helped manage the construction and consulting side of the company, working with builders, local governments and communities to further green building practices in Volusia and Lake counties.
He has worked for 13 years in the education field as a teacher, served as a registered lobbyist for Correctional Education, and as a distance education developer for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
He volunteers on behalf of FGBC with the Florida Chapter of the Future Builders of America.
Moore has been a member of FGBC since 2008. She has served on the board from 2010-2016 and is again serving a current term.
She continues to further her green building education and promote the National Association of Realtors (NAR) GREEN designation.
Along with participating in several FGBC committees Jeannette became a NAR GREEN Instructor in 2011 and conducts the two- day GREEN course to Realtors throughout Florida.
Her desire to serve on the FGBC Board aligns with her real estate mission to train more Realtors in order to obtain more accurate appraisal values for green built and remodeled properties.
Griego is a licensed architect and general contractor and owner of G3 AEC as the founding member of the South Florida design firm.
Griego has been involved in all aspects of the design and construction process for many project types in locations throughout the USA, China, South America, and the Caribbean.
